Us girls have our daily beauty regimen we stick to, but trying new products to bring into the mix is one of my absolute favorite things. Most of the items above I use every single day and have been for quite some time. My newest additions are the burt’s bees facial scrub, sonia kashuk concealer, revlon colorstay whipped foundation and the l’oreal double extend mascara. The facial scrub is a godsend. It’s very gentle, so it won’t dry out your skin – I use it every day, morning and night. Confession: I have skin that’s on the oily side – yes, sounds gross, but I found out that it’s actually better if you have oily skin because your makeup won’t settle into fine lines and your skin won’t age as fast – HOLLA! But, with oil comes blemishes.. can’t be havin’ that. Insert alba botanicals acnedote line. It’s organic, which is a plus, and it works fabulously, but if I use it every day my skin will dry out, so I use it every 2 days along with my burt’s bees scrub. {Alba also has an acnedote oil control moisturizer that I use every once in a while}
The Sonia Kashuk concealer is another one of those “thank God I found you” products. I have had the hardest time finding a concealer that actually does what it’s supposed to do – CONCEAL THINGS! I’ve used expensive ones, cheap ones.. and this one works for me. It comes with 2 shades {awesome bc you can make it as light or dark as you want it}, a neutralizer & a transparent powder to brush overtop so it won’t crease.
I was skeptical to try the Revlon Colorstay Whipped foundation because let’s be honest here, the cheapy foundations aren’t typically the best. Usually they break you out, leave you washed out in pictures, yata yata yata. I read a TON of great reviews on this makeup before I picked it up for myself – now I have it in 2 shades and use it all the time. The trick is how you apply it {or how you apply any foundation for that matter}.. but I won’t bore y’all with that unless you want me to.. and if so, lemme know.
Now on to the double extend. It’s wonderful and reminds me of the Trish McEvoy mascara I received in my planner.. it comes off in TUBES! Too cool. It also comes with a primer/lash conditioner that you apply before you put the mascara on to ensure your lashes don’t become hard and stick-like.
Everything else I listed I’ve been using for a while now and don’t plan on changing any time soon. But, if there’s one piece of makeup advice I can leave y’all with it’s ALWAYS WEAR A PRIMER. If you already do, you’re ahead of the game – if not, get with it because you are seriously missing out. You know when you paint something, like a piece of furniture or accent piece, and you have to PRIME it before you paint it? Why do you think you do that? So the paint has something to grasp on to and hold it in place! The same goes for makeup primer. It sets your face up for long lasting matte makeup. I SWEAR. Don’t give up if you tried it and hated it.. you may have to try a few out before you find the right one. Now, go to Sephora, look for their little wall of the top rated primers, ask one of the artists which are best for your skin type, then ask for a few samples before you go spending money on something you may or may not like. You won’t be disappointed.
Ok, enough makeup talk – Have a fab Friday! xo

Love your posts Morgan! Keep up the good work girlie :)
You’re so sweet :) Thanks, love! I’m glad you like them. I miss you!! I’ll be in town next weekend for a wedding.. we’ll have to meet up!
Omg this post is perfect timing! I have been on the hunt for a new face wash so I scooted out to Target and bought BOTH the Burt’s Bees and the Alba’s. Can’t wait to see how they work! And naturally while I was there I dropped $100 on nail polish and a million other things I didn’t really need. Thanks, Target.
I would love to hear about your application method for the Revlon Whipped Foundation – I have oily skin, and I’ve been wanting to try it, but I’m afraid!!
Hey girl! I’ll do a post tomorrow showing how I apply it! Having oily skin makes it so hard to find products that don’t make me look gross – I’ll add a few extra items I’ve found that really help out!
I would like to hear about it too!
tell us about how to apply foundation your way =]
