“You can’t wear white after labor day – until memorial day.”

Well, it seems pretty safe to say that every part of the country believes it’s now socially acceptable and fashion-forward to wear white all year round – except the south that is.  As my girls of the new hit TV series, GCB, would say… it’s like wearing pants to church – or worse.

I come from a small, southern town where the season one chooses to wear white is a pretty big deal, and I’ll never forget the girls who were so mean and judgmental to whomever chose not to abide by this principle! I find it funny that now it’s completely common to see fashion icons, such as Giuliana Rancic on set of E! News or Kim Kardashian brought up on Fashion Police nonetheless, wearing white proudly throughout the year.

It makes you wonder what the reasoning behind this “rule” actually is.  Sure, there are numerous theories and opinions on the subject matter, but since when has that ever stopped anyone from doing – or wearing – what they please?  Listen to Joan Rivers for about 5 seconds on FP and you too will realize this whole “white rule” is pretty mediocre nowadays.

And while Memorial day is still over a month away – yours truly is happily sporting the white skinnies.
